Celebrate Your Love of Wine with Valentine’s Events

Ah, Valentine’s Day. Or, as it could be known, the day of the prix fixe.

Orlando’s wine events calendar is a little lighter this week, as local vino-focused establishments make way for the crowds of couples dining out on Thursday. But many are also planning V-Day themed tastings, so get ready to fall in love with wine – especially bubbles and reds – all over again.

Bordeaux Bounty and Thanksgiving Wine

There’s much to be thankful for as we approach next week’s food-and-wine-centered holiday.

One reason for gratitude is the bubbling up of of several free (or almost free) Bordeaux tastings at two Tim’s Wine Market locations between now and Sunday. (The first one starts at 3pm today!) Check the Events Page for details.

The festive wine season continues apace in Orlando, both before and after Thanksgiving. Here are a few highlights for the coming week:

Orlando Wine Blog’s first-ever tasting is next week, along with lots more cool stuff!

This coming Thursday, I’ll host what I hope will be the first of many Orlando Wine Blog events – a unique opportunity to taste and learn about the wines of Missouri. That state played a major role in America’s early winemaking history and is home to the country’s first AVA. We’ll compare some of Missouri’s current wines with more familiar grapes and wine regions. I hope you’ll join me at Digress Wine for a geeky good time! (Seating is very limited, so get your tickets now.)

That tasting is in great company, coming during a very full week of exciting wine events around the region! Here are a few highlights.

Back Vintages, Christmas Cookies, and MORE Holiday Bubbles!

Don’t let your foot off the holiday gas pedal, Central Florida! The coming week has plenty more opportunities to celebrate the festive season through wine.

Tonight, taste and learn about some great Champagnes and sparkling wines when Vintage Vino in Kissimmee hosts local wine power couple Billy and Kelly Hendriksen.

Thursday, don’t miss the opportunity to try some older vintage wines when Cavanaugh’s pulls out some gems from the cellar for a special holiday tasting. They’ll be opening wines ranging in age from nine to 24 years!

Friday, put your baker’s hat on and bring your best holiday cookies to share at Tim’s Wine Market Lake Mary‘s Christmas Cookie Exchange. They’ve picked out some wines to pair with cookies – no easy feat!

Details for these and many other upcoming wine events are on the Events Page. Cheers!
