Orlando winelovers, get ready for a blockbuster of a week in wine events! In addition to the ones in the headline, there are tastings of viognier and Spanish wine, a harvest festival, and much more. Check the Calendar Page for the full list, and read on for a few highlights.
ORLANDO’S WEEK IN WINE
Tuesday, Orlando Wine Blog and Digress feature innovative Sonoma wines in our Geeky Side of Gary Farrell tasting with Gary Farrell Estate Sommelier and Orlando native Tiffany Kuhn (last I checked, there were just two tickets left!); and Swirlery showcases wines from the Italian island of Sardinia with a representative from PALA winery.
Wednesday is the new date for the Dorian-disrupted Educated Consumer class at Tim’s Orlando.
Thursday, choose from two free tastings at two Tim’s Wine Market locations. Avalon Park features Spanish wines; Lake Mary spotlights viognier.
Friday, Luisa’s Cellar holds an open house tasting of twelve wines to celebrate harvest season.
Saturday, Tim’s Avalon Park holds a wine and donut pairing event.
Sunday, Tim’s Avalon offers a tour of Italy via a tasting featuring wine regions from Piemonte in the north to Sardinia in the south.
Details of these events are on the Calendar Page, where you’ll also find more events for next week and the weeks to come.
On the Wine Road Again
I’ll be heading across the Atlantic next week for a press trip through the vineyards and wineries of Germany and Bordeaux. The tour is focused on young winemakers, and I’m excited to see, hear, and taste their innovations and interpretations of tradition.
You can follow my adventures and discoveries in real time on Instagram and Facebook. And of course, I’ll share stories here when I return.
